The History of the Hot Sausage Co
Founded in 1989, the Hot Sausage Company was originally based in Ipswich. As a family endeavour, the business is now mainly run from Ipswich by a father and son team.
We now run street stalls in Ipswich, Colchester and affiliated stalls in Cambridge, Bath and Exeter– with the same distinctive burgundy and gold colour scheme we have always used the same recipe for our traditional sausages that is unique to us.
When we started the company up, one of the key features was the distinctive sausages we sell, something that means we often see return custom. Once you have tried one of our hot dogs, you will want to keep coming back for more! Over the years, the company has expanded based on a reputation for reliability, especially with our catering service for events.
Our Presence in the UK
As well as trading in Ipswich town centre we have street stalls in several English cities. If you are looking for a tasty treat when shopping in Colchester, Cambridge, Bath or Exeter, for example, you will be able to track down one of our traditional serving carts.

What to expect

Variety
There are plenty of different options for our hungry clients at the Hot Sausage Company. As well as our traditional hot dogs, we offer the full range of trimmings with everything from traditional ketchup to fried or crispy onions and cheese. We also now sell vegan hot dogs.
Fresh
The sausages we sell are made to our own recipe and specifications. This means that they are derived from fresh ingredients and cooked to order every time. If you buy a meal kit from us, then it will be fresh enough to last for 48 hours before it needs to be consumed.

Meet our Dream Team
The Hot Sausage Company was initially founded by Michael Moran based in Cambridge who very quickly set up operations in Ipswich which was and still is run by Andrew. It is they who came up with the concept behind the business, the livery, the traditional carts and the distinctive recipe that makes our sausages so ideal in hot dogs. Josh is Andrew’s son. He now helps to run the business with his father. The pair take great pride in running the Hot Sausage Company in a professional manner, eager to do anything they can to make private event catering run smoothly with fast service times that are ideal for larger events. Perhaps that is why the two have enjoyed so many favourable reviews over the years the company has been trading?
